Hi, thank you for taking a look at my letter! You can use as much or as little of my optional details as you want. If you already have an idea and it doesn't cross my DNWs, feel free to just stop reading here and get to creating for me \o/ but if you want prompts or thoughts on certain tags I've requested, you'll definitely find those in this letter and I hope that they'll be useful.

DNW

Suicide, suicidal ideation, mentions of suicide, implied suicide, the word suicide
- You may find yourself in a situation where you're writing, say, one character staying behind to fight so that their teammates can escape. Please focus on their determination to save their comrades, live as long as possible, and maybe just maybe succeed without dying no matter how slim the chances are.
- Or, since I've requested Hidan and probably mentioned Jashinists and time loops, you might find yourself writing a character who seeks/experiences temporary death to achieve some goal. Temporary character death is fine, but please have them killed by other people rather than killing themselves.
dissociation/depersonalization from the POV of the person experiencing it, including Nara being in the black
- examples include characters not feeling real, not feeling connected to their body, feeling like they're viewing a scene from the third person while someone else moves their body.
- Exceptions to the above:
  - obviously there are canon characters who can do that kind of thing to themselves/other people because of their cool powers.
  - characters having a literal out-of-body experience because of magic ninja bullshit is fine.
  - characters literally not being in control of their bodies because of magic ninja bullshit is fine.
- What I DNW is dissociation and the like as a reaction to stress/trauma. If it's enemy action to be resisted and fought against, go for it.
- I know being in the black is some magic ninja bullshit but I DNW it because it's still like, a character's internal stress response. Showing Nara in the black from an outside POV is fine.

Dreaming of Sunshine - Silver Queen

General fandom notes:

Gen is very very good in this fandom and I love it. I'm not interested in shipfic about Shikako/Anyone, but I don't mind ships being teased for her. I'm definitely into Mei/Zabuza and I'd welcome something with Neji/Tenten or even something that explores Tenten's failed relationship with Shikamaru. Other background pairings are also okay.

I'm splitting this up by place/time to make it easier but I'm definitely okay with characters from one place/time exploring Shinobi-Civilian dynamics in another place/comparison between two places/etc.

Mist:

What's being a civilian in Mist like? How did it differ before/during/after the rebellion? How easy is it for civilian kids to enter the Mist academy?
What kind of reputations do my selected Mist characters have and how does that impact the new regime?
What's up with relations between the Water Daimyō and Mist?
Do civilians have prejudices against ninja with bloodlines still?
Is it hard for Mei to get, like, civilian contractors to come in and build things?

Modern Konoha:

I think Shikako, Tenten, and Sakura all represent really really interesting different facets of Konoha's modern life and the socio-economic/political differences between ninja clan kids and civilian kids and orphans and I would be VERY interested in anything that explored that.
Sakura was at a severe disadvantage, being from a civilian household but it was mitigated by Shikako and Ino. What did she think about that/what does she think about it now? What about her parents? How might it have gone differently?
Tenten, uh, doesn't seem to have much friends and maybe didn't have a choice about going to the Academy on account of being an orphan. I also love her Nervousness about being invited to Ino's house and accepting help from Shikako. Is it still weird for her to know all these clan kids and be invited to things and stuff? What kind of difficulties has she had/does she continue to have? What things does she see that her friends don't?
Shikako is always thinking about how and why things work and improving things. What has she noticed about the relations between civilians and shinobi? As I'll elaborate on in a different section, what kind of genin corps and academy stuff did she see, hate, and immediately change?

Warring Clans Era Konoha:

Tobirama would have had a really fascinating early view of the early mixing of civilians and a bunch of ninja clans. There was probably so much for each side to learn about the other!
He also probably oversaw much of the Academy's beginnings, the Police, the protocols for bringing in civilian construction workers, the establishment of civilian schools....I'm super interested in the challenges and setbacks he faced from civilians, from other ninja, and maybe even from his own prejudice.
Time travel definitely welcome but not required! I'm more interested in modern characters traveling back than in Tobirama traveling forward, but either would be good.
...if you do want to give Tobirama info from the future actually my favorite way to see that done would be a Tobirama who remembers his entire past life included either A) his Naruto canon edo tensei adventures or B) the DoS equivalent that might happen.
..if you REALLY want to see him travel forward then I would absolutely have a weakness for him reincarnating into a civilian or orphan and ending up struggling through the genin corps, lmao.

I am OBSESSED with Sasuke and Shikako turning their relatively simple task into a whirlwind that touches like probably every single damn department. I would be pleased with either of them or both or with OCs or with whatever.
Did Ebisu ever elaborate on his plans for the Corps? Did Iruka ever express his problems with the Academy? In the case of Iruka, I would love anything that touches on the fact that Sasuke/Shikako were recently his students.
How are things at the Academy and the Genin Corps, and have the internships with other departments started yet?
Speaking off other departments, how did things go with handing police responsibilities back to an actual police department instead of splitting them between ANBU and T&I? Does Ibiki have to work closely with the new police department? Do Bat and/or Hawk have to work with them during village patrols for the time being?
Who's in the police? How were they recruited — was it through Yoshino, and did Yoshino join? How's Manabu liking his new position?

I love and am obsessed with the picture of Mist we've been given over the course of DoS's run and I want to know so much more about it.

What was the rebellion like? How much did Zabuza and Mei work together? At what point did Mei and Haku meet? Was there any debate over what the new Mist would look like before they killed Yagura and got Mei the hat? How strange has coming into the village in these circumstances been for Haku?
UM. ZABUZA THE ACADEMY TEACHER. I YEARN TO KNOW MORE. I'M STARVED FOR DETAILS ABOUT THIS. TELL ME EVERYTHING PLEASE.
We've all guessed that Sakura might be one of the medics sent to Mist and I'd love to see the reforms or hear about the rebellion from her POV. I'd also be interested in, say, Shikako being there to guard her or for other diplomatic purposes.
What are the civilian-shinobi dynamics like? What kind of socio-economic divides are present in Mist (and how is Mei trying to fix em?)? Has the Mist nin culture shifted at all? Is there resistance to change? Does anyone not like that Mei is their Mizukage? Have there been assassination attempts?
What was the conversation like leading up to Mei and Zabuza deciding to get married?
If you'd rather write some dimension or time travel or something to investigate the Mist Rebellion, I'm down!

Also, it feels like Adventurers probably have some really weird ideas about how businesses and commerce and employment should work, and I wonder if there's conflict between these modern Japanese folks' understanding of how to run a business and the pseudo-historical pre-industrialization stuff the People of the Land have previously had going on?

I just really think that the fact that it's fascinating that Shiroe's years of video game playtime have translated to like over 200 years of backstory now that he's living in the game!
What's his reputation? What do people think of him? What kind of stuff does The Lander Grapevine think he's gotten up to?
There are surely Landers alive now who met Shiroe before the Apocalypse who interacted with him when he was just a game avatar. What did they think of him then vs now?
...okay I can't remember how widespread knowledge of Shiroe the Archmage probably is but I don't think any of the Landers besides Re-gan recognize him canon? And that provides us with two extremely funny possibilities:
1. Shiroe the Archmage is the kind of thing only total nerds/devoted archivists or tavern bards and storytellers care about. Most people who recognize him wouldn't say because then they have to admit a passion for history or bedtime stories and that's too embarrassing.
2. Actually everyone has heard of Shiroe the Archmage and they are all DYING over meeting him but don't want to embarrass themselves/break court protocol/whatever to ask if he REALLY did that totally cool badass thing 150 years ago.
3. (Or maybe a third option you'll come up with! I'd be into that.)

I like gen for this fandom but I don't mind any background ships, either.

WB: How Gravity Falls Citizens Deal With Weirdness (Gravity Falls)

Gravity Falls is so weird and strange and dangerous. In the show we see that some Gravity Falls citizens have reacted to the weirdness by making the Society of the Blind Eye, but I also wonder about other reactions! Or in elaboration on the Society of the Blind Eye, I suppose.

As far as characters I'd like for this besides Stan...well, I mean, pretty much any character, lol, but I'm particularly interested in non-weird characters reacting to weird characters. So like, Manly Dan meeting Multibear would be great, but I'd be less interested in seeing Multibear talk to the Manotaurs. (...but not totally uninterested!)

Fanfiction

Anything exploring the background of the Society of the Blind Eye and its impact on Gravity Falls. Did not remembering things actually make it more dangerous for Gravity Falls folks? Was there anyone who noticed the Society erasing memories but couldn't do anything about it? What unlikely character to do you think has had some memories erased?
How do people who go into the woods around Gravity Falls deal with how weird the forest is? (EG: Manly Dan and his lumberjacking, girl scouts, forest rangers, hikers like the one who meets the Hand Witch)
Does the town have any infrastructure that lends itself to accommodating weird citizens?
What kind of stuff did the FBI agents find...or fail to find? Do Gravity Falls citizens seek to hide their weird neighbors and stuff from outsiders? If so, did that ever give Ford trouble?

I'm sticking these two together because I know my prompts for them are going to be really closely related but please know that I'm 100% down to get A) stuff about laws and regulations that doesn't have anything to do with Stan or B) Stan doing illegal things that aren't in Gravity Falls. I was just giving myself a headache trying to make two full sections of prompts that didn't involve any repeating myself.

Anyway, I love the weird laws and lawlessness of Gravity Falls. Sherif Blubs and Deputy Durland do an honestly terrible job, Stan teaches a bear to drive, dudes can marry woodpeckers, and "pug trafficking" is illegal! Also Stan teaches the kids how to make fake money??? INCREDIBLE. This is a worldbuilding topic you can't go wrong on.

Fanfiction

Canon-compliant elaboration on the illegal things we see Stan (or other characters) do would be great. Right now what's coming immediately to mind is A) what the heck was that pug trafficking even about or B) oh my god Stan why were you counterfeiting money with Mabel and Dipper — but really anything would be wonderful!
Canon-compliant elaboration on laws and regulations would also be great! Like the woodpecker marriage or the way mayors are elected.
I would love to see Stan's illegal activities from before he came to Gravity Falls, and please don't shy away from showing him be a scumbag because he totally is and I love it. Equally, I'd love to see old criminal acquaintances look him up in Gravity Falls! Maybe even something where one of Stan's old crime buddies is in town?
What does a usual day of enforcing the local laws look like for Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland? How often do they actually arrest people?
What kind of local laws did Stan (or Ford?) unexpectedly run afoul of when they arrived in Gravity Falls?

WB: TV Shows & Movies (Gravity Falls)

Gravity Falls has all kinds of really interesting background details related to visual media, like Ducktective and Baby Fights and the terrible horror movies Wendy and Dipper watch! I would love anything that builds on canonically mentioned shows/movies or creates new ones, and especially anything that explores the relationship(s) that character(s) have with media. I have a deep love for minor characters and small canon details in this show so don't be afraid to take me up on the Any or No Characters.

I also wouldn't mind some IRL shows/movies being mentioned for flavor and characterization, but IMO Gravity Falls is pretty firmly set in an at least slightly alternate universe where even a lot of the normal shows the twins watch at home would be different, so like instead of "Bones" there's "Skeletons" or something? ~~And secretly within my heart of hearts maybe I believe that Ducktective is what they have instead of BBC Sherlock.~~

Are there shows/movies that air in Gravity Falls that the twins can't get ahold of in California?
How does Gravity Falls public access programming work? Who picks the terrible B-Movies?
Were Stan and Soos (and Grenda and Candy?) already into Ducktective before Mabel & Dipper arrived, or did Mabel watching it drag people in? Who else in Gravity Falls likes Ducktective? Is there a fanclub?
What do various & sundry characters watch? How is TV Time in the Shack distributed?
Some of the characters are sometimes on TV! What's that like for them?
We saw that that stop motion animation guy lives in Gravity Falls. Are other TV shows/movies filmed there or nearby besides the local access stuff? Is it a popular place to shoot horror movies? Is there mayyyyybe a small B-movie industry run by necromancers/vampires/werewolves/whatever that purposefully get details wrong?
