Hi, thank you for taking a look at my letter! Uh, I really went ham with prompts and tags because I honestly could not choose, but please don't be intimidated — you can use as much or as little of my optional details as you want. If you already have an idea and it doesn't cross my DNWs, feel free to just stop reading here and get to creating for me \o/ but if you want prompts or thoughts on certain tags I've requested, you'll definitely find those in this letter and I hope that they'll be useful.

A few notes:

  • I'm a slow commenter in general and will likely be particularly slow in this exchange because of (A) modding and (B) recovering from modding, lol. I will read and kudos right away! If we talk on Discord, I will probably directly mention to you that I love it! But an AO3 comment might not happen until the end of or even after the anonymous period.
  • Since I'm the mod, if you have any questions for me you can ask me directly if you want! But also if you want the gift to stay secret and anonymous then @pepperdoken has volunteered to act as an intermediary.
  • Some tags have less prompts than others but I definitely want everything the same amount! I just want a lot of things and have more ideas for some than for others.

DNW

  • Suicide, suicidal ideation, mentions of suicide, implied suicide, the word suicide
    • You may find yourself in a situation where you're writing, say, one character staying behind to fight so that their teammates can escape. Please focus on their determination to save their comrades, live as long as possible, and maybe just maybe succeed without dying no matter how slim the chances are.
    • Or, since I've requested Hidan and probably mentioned Jashinists and time loops, you might find yourself writing a character who seeks/experiences temporary death to achieve some goal. Temporary character death is fine, but please have them killed by other people rather than killing themselves.
  • dissociation/depersonalization from the POV of the person experiencing it, including Nara being in the black
    • examples include characters not feeling real, not feeling connected to their body, feeling like they're viewing a scene from the third person while someone else moves their body.
    • Exceptions to the above:
      • obviously there are canon characters who can do that kind of thing to themselves/other people because of their cool powers.
      • characters having a literal out-of-body experience because of magic ninja bullshit is fine.
      • characters literally not being in control of their bodies because of magic ninja bullshit is fine.
    • What I DNW is dissociation and the like as a reaction to stress/trauma. If it's enemy action to be resisted and fought against, go for it.
    • I know being in the black is some magic ninja bullshit but I DNW it because it's still like, a character's internal stress response. Showing Nara in the black from an outside POV is fine.
  • first person POV except in Animorphs fics
  • characters meeting other versions of themselves on-screen
  • Nara Shikako having her reincarnation status revealed
  • Nara Shikako being pregnant or having sex even off screen.
  • Unrequested AUs that change the setting, replace the magic system, or significantly change the society the characters live in.
    • So, no to: mundane AUs, IN SPACE AUs, fantasy AUs, soulmate AUs, etc, unless directly requested.
    • But yes to: canon divergence, alternate timelines, For Want Of A Nail
  • car crashes or people being hit by cars (a fender-bender or airplane crash would be fine though)
  • zombies/the rotting undead
    • Obviously fine to talk about Hidan.
    • Kakuzu and edo tensei are also fine to bring up or include but please don't, you know, make them zombies with rotting flesh. Vaguely magically undead is more than enough.
  • permanent death of requested characters unless you're making Toki a ghost.
    • canonical death is fine to include in stories about other characters!
    • so like, don't kill Aoba in a fic about Aoba, but if you're writing about Team Anko you could have a mention of his death.
  • Playing up unrequited Shisui/Shikako for drama or angst.
  • Incorporating significant chunks of Boruto stuff.

  • I've provided links to sections that discuss certain relationship tags because maybe you don't want to scroll. From here you might want to skip straight to art prompts.
  • There are a LOT of prompts here. Please don't feel like you have to read all of them! Or even any of them.
  • Fandom-specific DNW: if you write Shisui/Shikako as unrequited or unrealized on Shikako's side of things I DNW that to be played up for drama or angst.

A list of all DoS Relationships I want fic for!

Aburame Shino (DoS) & Nara Shikako (DoS)

  • First of all, Shino is great.
  • Second of all, he promised to protect Shikako from spiders and anything that brings that up will please me so greatly.
  • They could go on a mission together? They could train together? They could work on a project together?
  • An AU/canon divergence where Shino gets to save the day! Like maybe the Grass kidnapping is successful, but Shino had a kikaichu on Shikako so they're able to find her. Or go even more AU — an AU where Shikako was taken into ROOT when they were young and years later Shino is the only one who recognizes her because Bug Reasons, so he's able to help her? (I definitely don't want Shikako to be helpless, she never is, but! I want Shino to have a chance to shine ok...)
  • Also I feel like Shino is the #1 person who's ride or die for Shikako without Shikako having ANY clue and I love that. I'd love some kind of situation where she's like...committing treason or time/dimension traveling or something and she needs Shino's help or at least his silence and Shino is just 100% there for it above and beyond her expectations.

  • Okay, admittedly, this is PARTIALLY just about me wanting to see people be salty about Yūhi Shinku. He must have gotten his day ruined so many times??? Many of these people have probably in the past struggled hard to deal with Shinku and maybe even supported each other through that!!
  • In what little ways have people in the genin corps rebelled and resisted Shinku over the years? Did Manabu and Ebisu ever commiserate when Ebisu was part of the corps? Was Iruka ever in the genin corps?
  • On average, how many awkward conversations does Kurenai have every week where people are trying to politely dodge around how much they hate her father? Was it better or worse when she was younger? What does she think about the educational reform and had she ever helped Ebisu with his plans in the past? (She was, iirc, a chūnin instructor at the academy for awhile...?)
  • What's the new police force like? What was putting it together like? Do they get pushback from anyone besides Shinku — like maybe people whose departments absorbed police work after the Uchiha died, and now they don't want to give it back? Especially would be interested in Anko helping moms get training from Interrogation, but literally any other direction would be great.

Haku (DoS) & Isobu (DoS)

  • I really love fics about Mist and their reform and the rebellion and everything. Like just literally everything.
  • Please feel free to read/not read and use/not use my Mist POVs.
  • Did Mei always know she and Zabuza were working on the same rebellion? How clear were Zabuza's reasons for trying to murder Yagura to non-Zabuza people? Did seeing Zabuza teach and protect Haku change or confirm anything for Mei? Did Mei notice any change in Zabuza or Haku after their experiences in Land of Wave?
  • What kinds of things change for Haku after he becomes a jinchūriki? Is the process safe, or is it risky? How is Haku's seal different from Naruto or Gaara's?
  • If you're up for fight scenes, I'd love anything with any of these characters fighting or sparring for any reason.

  • Sakura's really come into her own as a ninja, but we've yet to see her on a mission. Maybe something where Sakura has to face her fears, either alone or with the rest of Team Anko?
  • Hurt/comfort where part of the comfort is Anko or Tsunade being proud of her for making the best of a bad situation?
  • A time loop where Sakura is trying to heal everyone?
  • Team Anko's first official meeting as a team would be cool. Or their first C-rank!
  • Team Anko at the Mist exams or celebrating afterwards. Do they go to Sakura's house (like, maybe she got the idea from Shikako, you know?) or do they go out to eat?
  • That Anko POV in Sunshine Sidestories showed us that Anko is pretty used to being distrusted. Is it better now that she's a sensei? Is it weird to have her students trust and include her in things? Does she have any friction from the Kurama clan or from Sakura's civilian parents? Does she try to help Isaribi settle into the village?
  • How much do Isaribi, Yakumo, and Sakura know about Anko? How much do they know about each other?

  • Ibiki's POV of being handed Hidan's talking, severed head. What was the discussion with Tsunade/Shikaku/Inoichi/Chouza/other T&I members like?
  • Obviously anything based on or related to Gotta Hand It To You (FILE ID: I-K-63-FEB-IN204) would be much appreciated — throw Sasuke and Anko in here, too! — but definitely absolutely not required.
  • Also, the Dark Fire verse or using DawningStar's through the fire and the abyss would be great!

  • When Tenten was invited to Ino's house, did she have to go to her teammates for help being prepared for it?
  • Tenten's sealing progress in the background of Shikako's advancement has always really fascinated me. How has it changed things for Tenten? She's an orphan who I imagine previously basically had to go into the ninja profession and, you know, fight. But now — have her seals and her association with Shikako opened new doors to her? Does she get royalties at all from the NaraTen seals? Does she sometimes look around and feel weird that she (and her team!) are surrounded by clainmates?
  • I requested Tenten in AU Ex with these tags:

  • Gaara POV on literally anything would be great. Looking up and then deciding to take Sasori's information, trying to figure out how to give it to Shikako at the Grass exams, his return to Suna and becoming Kazekage, the Mist exams...honestly I'd be so delighted.
  • Same for Kankurō! And I'd especially love him interacting with Sasuke at the Grass exams or in Mist.
  • Suna must be up in the rotation for Chūnin Exams soon, maybe something about that?
  • Sasuke is a jōnin now, so maybe he and Kankurō could go on a mission together? Like, some Suna ninja are in trouble and Sasuke (+Shikako or Sai or honestly any character) is close enough to help out?
  • Adding Sai into the above idea strikes me as REALLY funny because like... Kankurō thought he had a handle on Konoha's weirdness but Sai is this whole other level that he's extremely not prepared for.
  • Gaara or Kankurō time traveling would be AMAZING — I'd love to see them redoing the events of the Konoha exams knowing what a good friends Team 7 will end up being, you know?
  • Optionally, I am also definitely a fan of small groups of characters traveling to the past together as well and Kankurō traveling back with Sasuke and maybe Sai would be great. They'd be able to cover very different parts of the past and also make kind of an odd gen match-up, which is my fave.
  • Also, anything set in the Dark Fire verse or using DawningStar's through the fire and the abyss would be great!

Maboroshi Kisuke (DoS) & None

  • Anything about Kisuke's, um, life as a ghost! What do his coworkers think? What does he think? Have he and Tsunade had any very hard or very frank talks about his post-death service? What was it like for Ibiki to get this dumped on him? Is being a ghost stuck to a seal scary? Does he trust Shikako?
  • ...also anything about his life as a non-ghost! He's obviously very driven by his duty to his village, but he also had a life and family outside of ANBU. What was that like?
  • Time or dimension travel to meet/save an alive version of Kisuke would be cool.
  • What kind of rumors does Kisuke hear about ANBU Bat before finally meeting her? I imagine that whole being a ghost thing is great for eavesdropping and it's not like there's much better to do.

Nara Shikako (DoS) & Inuzuka Kiba (DoS)

  • I love every single one of Shikako and Kiba's interactions SO MUCH. Oh my god. I'm clutching my face they're such good friends.
  • I would love a situation where Kiba could get to see that Shikako trusts him just as much as she trusts her — like he thinks of her as this ridiculously competent badass, but I have no doubt she'd put exactly the same amount of trust in him.
  • Does Kiba ever figure out how to throw things while he's spinning in fang over fang? Does he ask Shikako for help with it, or even maybe just surprise her with it in a spar?
  • Time travel! Dimension travel! Etc.
  • What's the craziest story Kiba's heard about Shikako second-hand? Is it true? Does Shikako confirm it?

Nara Shikako (DoS) & Sai (DoS)

  • I'd love to see them trusting each other and I'd love to see Sai's loyalty (to Shikako or to the village) be put to the test by something and for Shikako to have absolute faith in him even if other people have doubts.
  • I'm very very here for Nara!Sai.
  • Maybe something where Shikako has to go on a diplomatic visit to Mist or Sand and Sai goes with her because Danzō is still up to his bullshit?
  • Anything set in the Dark Fire verse or using DawningStar's through the fire and the abyss would be great! Maybe a DF AU where Shikako doesn't die in the fight against Danzō? Or Gardens!Shikako and DF!Sai interacting, either would be wonderful.

Nara Shikako (DoS) & Senju Tobirama (DoS)

  • I think that Shikako and Tobirama both possess some really similar personality traits, like... ruthlessness and wanting to fix/invent things where they see a need. On the other hand, Shikako is... charismatic? Friendly? so they've definitely had really wildly different experiences. I don't know where I was going with this! Probably trying to explain why I like this match up.
  • I'd prefer Shikako traveling back in time or further reincarnation for her over Tobirama traveling into the present. A minor preference for Shikako still being a Nara if she's reborn, but do whatever you think will make for a good story!
  • One of my favorite moments for Shikako's ruthlessness is when she kills the Sound team in the Forest of Death because it was easy and it would make herself and her team safe and she just didn't think the cost of their lives was worth the risk to her and Naruto and Sasuke's life. I think that that kind of calculous over taking a life probably isn't the kind of thing Tobirama has ever had space for in his life, at least not until the village is founded, so... I guess I'd just like anything where Shikako's ethics run up against Tobirama's pragmatic, horrific Warring Clans Era experience, because I think that they might fundamentally disagree on principles but still reach an immediate and obvious-to-them agreement on whatever the practical matter at hand is?
  • (Oh, hey, that's where that first part was going!)
  • Adjustment isn't technically a DoS fic, but (spoilers!) in it Tobirama stops and saves the life of a Nara man who's super injured. I would A) love a sequel where that comes into play involving Shikako somehow or B) where instead of some Nara man it's Shikako instead.

  • We really, really can't go wrong with any combination of Team 7 and I am going to prompt some things but I'd really be so down for anything.
  • Kakashi & Sasuke talking about Sasuke joining ANBU. The first time Kakashi and Sasuke see each other after Kakashi gets out of his Itachi-induced coma. Sasuke trying to give Kakashi's sword back to him after Kakashi stops dying and Kakashi so not being about that. Sasuke maaaaybe freaking out a little at Kakashi about trying to protect his teammates and Kakashi so, so gets that.
  • Okay, I love those fics where someone travels back in time and adopts Naruto? He could also adopt himself? Also just anything where adult versions of characters interact with Shikako!
  • Have Naruto and Shikako ever talked about Gelel?
  • An AU where the kidnapping in Grass was successful.

Nara Shikako (DoS) & Uchiha Shisui (DoS)

  • I'm sure it surprises absolutely no one that I want these two.
  • I like them as platonic or romantic!
  • They go on a mission together, or meet on a mission?
  • Shikako has to deliver the unfortunate news that ghosts are real and, also, they are being haunted and, also also, she's not sure how to kill a ghost. Yet, She's working on it.
  • In ANBU together! Accidentally time traveling together!]
  • Any situation where one of them teaches the other something. Or even where one of them like, is the other's jōnin-sensei?
  • ...I have so many fics with these two and something based on them would be really great!

Notes about writing this ship:

  • Whether you do or don't ship it, please give literally no thought to if a fic is "shippy enough" and just write character interactions; I will be extremely, equally pleased by either ship or gen.
  • I don't mind Shisui having an unrequited crush on Shikako, but per my DNW would prefer that the unrequitedness not be focused on for angst or drama. My preferred Shisui—>Shikako dynamic is him just being EXTREMELY enthused about her in all ways and her being 100% oblivious to his romantic feelings.
  • Canonically Shikako is 8 years younger than Shisui. I don't mind that age difference if you're writing something where they're older (like, where Shikako is 18+) but if you want to write shipfic where either of them is under 18 I'd definitely prefer that they be closer in age via whatever method you prefer — time travel, dimension travel, alternate or further reincarnation, etc. A 2 or 3 year age difference would be fine, and to save you a trip top the timeline, Shisui is 16 during the Uchiha Massacre!

  • I just love Tenzō. Anything with any version of Tenzō. He's so great.
  • What's it like for him to attend Team 7's training sessions? Does he ever teach Shikako or Sasue anything? Has he missed Kakashi, and has it been long enough since they were close that they're surprising each other both in and out of fights now?
  • I've always kind of thought that Hiruzen was the one who was really About hiding Tenzō away, so Tenzō gets more freedom under Tsunade. If you agree, how does that feel for him and what new people does he interact with? If you disagree, then \o/ write me something about what you think the difference between now and before is!
  • Also, you know, what's his relationship with Tsunade like?
  • Tenzō and Kakashi in ANBU!
  • Or... Shisui and Tenzō in ANBU! Did they know each other? Or maybe some time travel? Someone else nominated this and I am DYING to find out what they wanted out of this tag.

Toki (DoS) & Nara Shikako (DoS) & Uzumaki Naruto (DoS) & Sai (DoS)

I really love the Land of Birds arc! I think it has a really great, interesting team with some super good potential for interesting canon divergence. Literally anything would be cool but here are two ideas??

  • Sai gets hurt. Like really really hurt. And to his complete surprise his teammates.... don't put him down in the field? They save his life and drag him home and visit him in the hospital??
  • There's a REAL ghost in Land of Birds. It could be actually Toki or it could be Sagi or someone else. Whatever. Real ghost = I will be there with bells on.

  • I'm super into the idea of exploring Sasuke's interactions with the other members of the Konoha 13 when Shikako isn't around.
  • Like, okay, Sasuke was basically on Team Gai for a month while Shikako and Kakashi were in the hospital? What was that like omg.
  • Do Sasuke and Kiba ever spar? Or maybe they can go on a mission together now that Sasuke's a jōnin? When Shikako's out of the village on a mission, maybe Kiba tries to drag Sasuke to social stuff in her stead?
  • Sai gets sent to try and get information about... things? So he has to try and socialize with Sasuke. Or, you know, now that Sasuke's a jōnin, they get sent on missions together!
  • Also for Sasuke & Sai, anything set in the Dark Fire verse or using DawningStar's through the fire and the abyss would be great! ...Actually, anything set in that verse with the other characters would also be great.

  • Amano and Kakashi when Kakashi was in ANBU — I like the idea that Crow was Kakashi's first captain! Or maybe later, like... after Kakashi and Tenzō have met?
  • Amano helps prevent the Uchiha Massacre! With Uzume or Shikako would be a classic, I'd love it, but consider also: Kakashi? Tenzō? :D Bonus: add time travel??
  • Working with Shikako in ANBU must be so stressful. Poor Amano. Poor Tenzō.
  • Uzume training with Shisui, or them on a training exercise together!
  • Literally anything involving how much Uzume hates and misunderstands Kakashi. It's such a delicious form of tension and honestly you don't even need to resolve it? Just a scene from a time when they had to work together would be good.

  • Anko told Shikako that she and Aoba have been on missions behind enemy lines together and had each other's backs. I would love to see anything about that. I don't make the rules, but maybe... there could be some cuddling for warmth? Maybe! Or.. one of them could be injured....?
  • It's my headcanon that Kakashi called in a long overdue favor to get Aoba to actually take Shikako under his wing and show her the ropes in Intel. What was that favor for? What was that conversation between them like? What did Aoba think Shikako would be like and how was she different or similar from what he expect?
  • Aoba and Shikako go on a mission and, whoops, uh, they end up in the past. Queue a debate about whether or not to come clean with Tsunade, or Hiruzen, or Minato? (Or maybe they go father back, and Shikako has to get them both into the Warring Clans Era pre-village Nara Clan?
  • I requested Aoba and Shikako (also Anko, Anko is very welcome) in AU Ex with these tags:
    • Aoba lives through Hot Springs
    • Anko and Aoba make jōnin together thanks to Gai's training
    • Anko is sent on the Hot Springs mission with Shikako instead of Aoba
    • Prompts about those here. Tragically I forgot to nominate Shikako & Anko, but I really would genuinely love fic in these universes with or without her.

  • Peggy sue time travel — either Gaara or Kankurō or both (plus Temari, if you want!) travel back in time from whatever point in Naruto canon you want and are surprised that Nara Shikako exists/is relevant. I like the idea of them arriving at some point after the Sand-Sound invasion but before the Sound Four arc? But anything would be fun. Shikako would surprise them so much!
  • Gardens travel — any kind of Gardens stuff would be super fun. Shikako could interrupt that whole Sasori thing, for instance!
  • Based on other works — something that follows A Friend You Haven't Met Yet or remixes it or whatveer would be great!

Hatake Kakashi (Naruto) & Red Team (DoS)

  • This sounds like a hysterical match up. Or maybe a really dramatic one. I would take either or both.
  • I'd love for them to meet up with Kakashi after he's Team 7's jōnin sensei.
  • I would REALLY love for the meet up to be at some point after Sasuke's left the village and for Kakashi to recognize Hawk as Uchiha Sasuke and be very ???? about that for at least a little.
  • I would ALSO really love it to be set when Kakashi is Hokage, omg.
  • They could jump in to help canon Kakashi with something (catching Deidara in the Gaara rescue arc? not dying in the Pein fight?) or they could come across him on a solo mission or on a mission where Naruto and Sasuke and Sakura are around there somewhere, or....you know, whatever you want!

Nara Shikako (DoS) & Sarutobi Asuma (Naruto) & Team 10 (Naruto)

  • Time travel — Team 10 travels back in time and is Very Surprised by Shikako existing. Yes, I love this plot.
  • Dimension travel — Shikako running into them when Ino and Shikamaru and Chōji are genin on a C-rank with Asuma would be great. Or, interrupting Hidan killing Asuma!

Nara Shikako (DoS) & Tenzou (Naruto)

  • Time travel — Tenzō travels back in time and is Very Surprised by Shikako existing. Yes, I love this plot.
  • Dimension travel — Tbh I don't have any extremely specific ideas for when or how they could meet, just that I think canon Tenzō/Yamato is probably uh, more socially isolated? Especially because whether or not he and Kakashi had the same disagreement about Kakashi leaving ANBU etc, I think Naruto canon Kakashi definitely isn't as close to Tenzō/never did really reconnect with him.
  • "Yamato" or "Tenzō" is fine, whatever you prefer!

Nara Shikako (DoS) & Uchiha Sasuke (DoS) & Hatake Kakashi (Naruto)

  • Time travel — you guessed it, I would love Naruto or Kakashi to be surprised that Shikako exists. Something related to detours you didn't mean to take would be great, but something new would also be wonderful!
  • Dimension travel — I'd also love to have Shikako and Sasuke meet Naruto or Kakashi physically in some kind of dimension travel situation. Like with Kakashi and Red Team, that part where Kakashi and Naruto are chasing Deidara seems like a great time, but some other situation would also be good! During the time skip, on another mission, etc. I think Shikako and Sasuke would be just as fascinated by how different Naruto/Kakashi is as Naruto or Kakashi would be fascinated with them. Also probably suspicious.

  • Hi, I love all versions of Sai and I love whoever nominated these tags.
  • Time travel where Naruto!Sai is surprised by Shikako existing welcome, but I don't really want the other direction because uhhh that's sad I love Shikako :(
  • Oh, but, they could totally swap places and then swap back!
  • I would love to see both versions of Sai being confused by the other version of Team 7, basically.

Uchiha Sasuke (Naruto) & Uzumaki Naruto (DoS)

  • I think DoS Naruto is a lot better at listening to and understanding people, and also understands his version of Sasuke a lot better, and ALSO I think that DoS Naruto trusts his team way more than Naruto canon Naruto ever did, so...idk something about that?
  • Like, if DoS!Sasuke wanted to leave, I think DoS!Naruto wouldn't be like "You have to go back to the village!", I think he'd be like "What can I do to improve the village so that you can come back" or even "Okay, if you can't go home neither can I, let's go."
  • Maybe DoS!Naruto swaps with Naruto!Naruto and finds himself in the middle of the fight at the Valley of the End at the end of the Sasuke Retrieval Arc and is like "???Why Are We Fighting???" or maybe he figures it's because Sasuke is seal-crazy but he manages to surprise Sasuke with his DoS-verse skills and win, only to them be like, "Hey, uh, wtf is going on?"
  • Or maybe Naruto is dimension traveling and runs into a Sasuke who's already been with Orochimaru for awhile! Or even one that's already found out about the Uchiha Massacre! So many delicious choices. I trust you. Live your dreams.
  • (Or Sasuke could travel to DoSverse! I am not picky.)

Uzumaki Naruto (Naruto) & Nara Shikako (DoS)

  • Time travel, obviously I would love time travel with surprise dimension travel.
  • But also I would just love to see these two make friends with each other! Naruto is really trusting and friendly and Shikako thinks the WORLD of him so if they ran into each other I'm 100% sure that they'd immediately team up no matter what the situation and I am DYING to see that. Especially if everyone around Naruto is like, screaming into their hands about what a bad idea it is while Naruto presses forward towards Friendship.
  • Also ugh that part in the Gelel arc where Shikako is literally dying but she senses Naruto slamming into the room and is like "ah, Naruto is here, everything will be okay" is like, oh no, I'm so emotional about it??? And I would love to see her being reassured by a version of Naruto that doesn't even know her. Like maybe she's having a hard time getting home and she just... gets to have a bowl of ramen with him and everything seems better? That'd be so nice.

Uzumaki Naruto (Naruto) & Uchiha Sasuke (DoS)

  • Okay same feelings as above except reversed.
  • Obviously time travel with surprise dimension travel would still be excellent.
  • If I had to pick just ONE moment for DoS!Sasuke to swap into it would be like, right before or right after Naruto!Sasuke has stabbed Naruto in the chest with chidori at the end of the Sasuke Retrieval arc. After seems particularly cruel and might actually lead to more immediate interaction with Kakashi and Pakkun, but I am willing if you are willing.
  • But okay, maybe some other time. Like maybe when Naruto!Sasuke is with Orochimaru already, and DoS!Sasuke has to exfiltrate Sound and then goes to find Naruto ASAP because obviously?
  • Or dimension travel in either direction!

  • I really like the ATLA world and for many characters I think that the world is really integral to their characters, so if you're going for reincarnation I'd prefer DoS characters reincarnating into ATLAverse instead of the other way around.
  • Dimension travel in either direction sounds great, though! I tend to prompt for DoS characters going to the crossover verse just because crossover characters going to DoSverse seems like it'd usually lead to them being captured/killed by ninja? But if you can make it work I'm down.
  • I know there were canonical crushes and stuff flying around and I don't mind brief mentions because I'm not asking you to write an AU where, idk, Mai and Zuko don't have their canonical thing, I just want gen!

  • A soldier under Iroh's command at Ba Sing Se or onboard Zuko's ship when he's banished.

  • A Dai Li agent secretly working against Long Feng.

For art: Anything with Shikako hanging out with these two would be great! Fighting with or against them, drinking tea, playing with turtleducks!

Toph Beifong (ATLA) & Haruno Sakura (DoS)

It just feels like Toph deserves to meet Shikako or Sakura? I'd love to see her annoyed by Shikako's usual catfoot technique or impressed with the feel of Sakura busting the ground up (although I'm pretty sure such a move would also temporarily "blind" Toph because, you know, that's a lot of vibration).

Toph in some kind of situation to team up with Sakura or Shikako would be great, too. So great!!! Either short term (dimension traveller(s) pretending to be Earth Kingdom refugees) or long term (eg, they were reincarnated and really are whoever they say they are.)

For art: Toph stomping things out of the ground while Sakura punches them at the enemy? Sitting at a campfire together? Investigating interesting rocks? Shikako gesturing at a seal she drew and Toph doing that thing where she waves her hands in front of her face to remind people that she's blind?

Team Anko (DoS) & None (ATLA)

Sakura is basically an honorary member of Team 7 and Anko's sensei was part of a Team 7, so I don't see why that bad luck couldn't rub off on them! I'd absolutely adore all four of them in the ATLAverse (Anko, Sakura, Yakumo, and Isaribi) being really competent while they way for someone to reverse their seal mishap, but I understand 4 is a lot so any two or three of them you want is fine!!

No preference for what ATLA characters they interact with or which part of canon they land in.

For art: Investigating the strange animals (Momo or Appa welcome!) or a particularly recognizable ATLA setting? Or any Team Anko member interacting with an ATLA character of your choice!

Uzumaki Naruto (DoS) & Iroh (ATLA)

It just feels like they'd immediately be friends? Both of them are super willing to give people a chance and be friendly and would assume the best of each other and be right, so like... omg... please. I'm imagining dimension travel (maybe with a chance for Iroh to find out about the Kyūbi and be like Who Would Do That To You Tell Me I'll Kill Them) but reincarnation could be fun, too?

For art: You know that episode where Toph meets Iroh in the woods and then just hang out? That's like...the feeling I want? Uncle Iroh. I love him and I love Naruto. Maybe Naruto excitedly explaining something to Iroh?

Hi, I'll take anything. This is kind of a really silly crossover but like. Please. A few things I'd like, but by no means an exhaustive list:

  • Naruto helps Su Xiyan and Tianlang-jun with that whole mess around when Luo Binghe was born.
  • Haku, Isobu, and Mobei-jun meet up and...talk about ice??? I didn't nominate this but I love it. Isobu can make a new friend!
  • Liu Mingyan and Kakashi both have a refined appreciation for literature and don't like showing their faces so...yeah, legit, I'd read it. Maybe Kakashi was reincarnated and is her publisher. Or not! Maybe they meet at the bookstore (Kakashi needs some fiction to read while he waits for someone back home to figure out a seal to bring him home) and then get into and out of some trouble together.
  • Shikako makes some friends! Maybe she's dimension traveling, maybe she reincarnated, maybe they end up in DoSverse. I love Liu Qingge and Luo Binghe and both versions of Shen Qingqiu so very much, you can't go wrong.
  • Gaara and Shikako are just an excellent team up and I would love to see them working with Luo Binghe. Maybe noticing that his sword is definitely evil. Or maybe meeting young Luo Binghe!
  • Naruto uses talk no jutsu on Tianlang-jun during SVSSS canon. Or runs into him pre-canon and makes a friend!
  • Okay, like, I am just saying, Naruto is unfortunately bound to be at least a little prejudice towards giant snakes? Like, he must be, right? So... meeting Zhuzhi-lang in his giant snake form and at first assuming the worst (Orochimaru must be around! That transdimensional sealing accident was no accident at all!!!) and then feeling really bad about it when it turns out Zhuzhi-lang is just an innocent snake after all.

  • Or, they know she's lying, but they also don't really care? She's clearly here illegally just like they are and so they'll cover for her as long as she covers for them.
  • Shikako promises herself she's not going to get involved but...of course she does. Maybe she finds Mei in the desert and helps her? Maybe she jumps in on one of the fights against Bradley?

If reincarnation:

  • Shikako as part of the Yao clan or the Chang clan or a third, different clan would be great.
  • ...I love me some Xingese politics, okay? Literally anything on that subject and my heart will be yours.
  • Shikako reincarnated as Lan Fan sounds fun too!
  • I just really like Mei and Ling and anything with either of them and Shikako would be great.

But otherwise go ham — portals, z-space accidents, seal mishaps, and reincarnation are all great.

Do I have any specific prompts? Um, no. Not really. I will tell you that I love to think about Shikako and Marco in relation to this quote about ruthlessness from The Reunion. I also love to think about how complexly Animorphs presents the kids' secret war against the Yeerks and all of the terrible things they do and any contrast between that and the way Konoha has indoctrinated Shikako would be great. Animorphs was my first fic fandom, so I would really be so excited about anything!
